RapidSOS Secures Strategic Investment from Honeywell

RapidSOS recently secured a strategic investment from Honeywell to accelerate a collective effort to better equip first responders with intelligent, incident-specific data before arriving on scene at a building. Through the strategic investment and technology integrations, the Honeywell Connected Life Safety System (CLSS) will link to the RapidSOS emergency response data platform to provide faster, more accurate communications with emergency communications centers (ECCs).

What does this mean for RapidSOS Ready ECCs?

Honeywell is working to improve both the quality of information shared and the time it takes for first responders to arrive at an emergency, potentially saving more lives. By connecting the data generated from the Honeywell CLSS platform to ECCs through the RapidSOS Platform, 911 dispatchers will gain access to critical information that isn’t easily transmitted today. The goal is to provide better information, faster, to first responders in an emergency.

Today, RapidSOS Ready ECCs already have access to emergency intelligence data such as a caller’s location, profile, emergency contact, health and medical information, and more from existing technology partners. With the Honeywell and RapidSOS solution, first responders will soon have access to even more robust data types which may include:

  • Building address

  • Description (Location of alarm within the building)

  • Severity and type of hazard

  • Alarm Description (Type of sensor)

  • Time of Alarm

How will RapidSOS Ready ECCs access this information?

Honeywell will leverage RapidSOS to deliver data from the Honeywell CLSS platform to ECCs. Stay tuned for information within the RapidSOS Portal Training Center on how to access this data at your agency.
